Cross Country Run Day

We started the day by reading Greedy Cat with children from rooms 1 and 5.  This was followed by eating iced buns - like the iced buns Greedy Cat likes to eat.  After drawing Greedy Cat we made cheese and corn toasted sandwiches, as we are sure Greedy Cat would love these.  Before lunch we wrote about our "Greedy Cat" morning.

In the afternoon the Sacred Heart School cross country was held.  We all tried so hard and had lots of fun.

Day 1 - Term 2

Welcome to term 2 everyone.  We have 4 new children in Room 2.  They are Lila-Grace, Zee, Abagail, Elaijah all from Room 1.  It is lovely to see the other children being so welcoming and kind to our new children. Today we were treated to a performance of "Puss 'n Boots" by New Zealand Playhouse.  This was a wonderful performance and lots of fun to watch.  Photos of the show are below.

We have a new 6 year old in room 2 - Ysabella Ebuen.  Happy birthday Ysabella.

Just a reminder of the Reading Together programme tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd May.

Last Day of Term 1

The day started with a visit from Black Sticks hockey player Amelia Gibson.  Amelia talked to us about how much she enjoys reading, some of the books she has read and how important it is for us to read.  We then finished off making our Easter eggs that we started making with the children from Room 1.

After lunch the school presented the Easter Liturgy to parents, other family members and friends. The part of the Easter story we showed was Palm Sunday.  There are also some pictures of the Last Supper.

We also farewelled Tieri, our lovely friend and classmate who is leaving to live in Canberra, Australia.  We wish Tieri and her family all the very best in their new home.

Pattern Making

We are learning how to create patterns using 4 different colours.  Our first patterns will look like -
A-B-C-D-A-B-C-D-A-B-C-D
Our second patterns will look like - A-A-B-C-D-A-A-B-C-D or A-B-B-B-C-D-A-B-B-B-C-D or another pattern using 2 or more elements together.  The children enjoy making and looking for patterns during their morning tea and lunch time breaks.
